Abstract

This article examines the life and some aspects of the pastoral ministry of archpriest George Breev (1937–2020), candidate of
theology. Archpriest Georgy Breev is an exceptional pastor of our time, who grew up during the difficult period of the Soviet government’s persecution of the Church. Despite all the difficulties, he faithfully believed in God and served at the God’s altar for more than fifty years. Father George received invaluable spiritual guidance from the abbot Savva (Ostapenko). Over the many years of serving as a parish priest, father George became an experienced confessor, he was guided by the Holy Scriptures and the holy fathers. Subsequently, archpriest George became the senior priest of two churches, where he conducted restoration work and the spiritual life of the parish. The clergy appreciated father George's pastoral experience and blessed him to be the confessor of the Moscow clergy.
